North Lake Tahoe's 26th Annual Winter Festival

Snowfest is a week long winter carnival high in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the shores of North Lake Tahoe. The festival includes 50-60 events throughout the North Tahoe and Truckee region. The events include a torchlight parade, a laser show, fireworks, a couple of parades, pancake breakfasts, concerts, bar parties, ski races, dog pulls, ice-cream eating contest, a winter luau, a Mardi Gras party, ice carving, a polar bear swim and many more. The festival comes during a time when many people don't realize that Tahoe is enjoying world renowned spring ski conditions. Sunny days and a large snow pack make North Lake Tahoe a great destination for spring skiing.
